If you need medical help now, use NHS 24 online or Call 111.

NHS 24 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

A call handler at NHS24 will answer your call. They will either:

• Arrange advice from a doctor or nurse.
• Invite you to attend the centre to be seen by the doctor.
• Arrange a home visit if you are too ill to visit the centre.

Transport to and from the centre is available if you cannot arrange this yourself. Out of hours cover is now the responsibility of NHS GG&C Health Board via NHS24.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

The Extended Access Service has more appointments with GPs available, making it easier for you to get an appointment at a time that suits you. Extended hours appointments are available from on Mondays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

How do I book an appointment?

Contact your GP practice in the usual way to request an appointment. 

If your practice is closed and you need medical help now, use NHS 24 online or Call 111. They may also be able to book an appointment for you with the GP Extended Access Service.

Please note that your consent will be required in order for an appointment to be booked for you.
